Tesla released a new video in an ongoing campaign to convince shareholders to vote for the reinstatement of Elon Musk's compensation package. Tucked between the video's frames, Tesla also hid some pictures of the upcoming driverless vehicle known internally as NV93.

alongside its robotaxi and is now planning to offer the affordable vehicle as an evolution of its existing Gen-2 architecture. Because the new affordable model will not use Tesla's unboxed manufacturing process, it will not be as cheap as previously announced. The EV maker will use existing production facilities, which means that production efficiency will also suffer.
However, Tesla confirmed that the unboxed process will still be used for a future robotaxi vehicle, which will be based on the Gen-3 architecture. Elon Musk announced that the robotaxi will be unveiled during a special event on August 8, possibly in China. It's unclear whether this robotaxi model will use the unboxed process from the beginning or adopt it later when it matures.
We do know that Tesla is still working on the Gen-3 project known internally as NV93, which was supposed to split into a passenger EV and a robotaxi. This has again been revealed in a new video Tesla addressed to shareholders. The video contains intriguing frames showing the mockup of the robotaxi, as well as a front design detail. It also offers insight into the new ride-hailing section in the Tesla app, which is already giving Uber executives headaches.
One of the frames shows Tesla's chief designer, Franz von Holzhausen, in front of a picture showing the robotaxi's seat bench. This appears to be from a two-seater vehicle that lacks a steering wheel. The seats appear rather basic, something you'd expect in public transport vehicles. It's clear that Tesla doesn't think the robotaxi will be used for longer rides.
Another section of the video shows a wider scene of a wooden mockup that looks similar to the one in Walter Isaacson's book about Elon Musk. A sticker in the background reveals that the installation represents the "NV93 Vehicle Package Side View." The image also shows the passengers' seating position inside the robotaxi, further confirming that the vehicle has only two seats.
In another frame that is easy to overlook, we can see what looks like the front bumper of a future vehicle, making it our first look at the upcoming robotaxi's design. This includes a black plastic insert and unpainted stainless steel body, similar to the Cybertruck. The image confirms previous rumors that the robotaxi will take design cues from the Cybertruck, making people call it "Cybercab."
The video also shows how ordering the robotaxi in Tesla's ride-hailing app might work. During the first-quarter earnings call, Tesla confirmed that the ride-hailing functions will be integrated into the Tesla app. What sets it apart from other ride-hailing services is that users will be able to adjust the climate control, play music, and track the vehicle on a 3D map, all within the app.
