Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, announced on Thursday that Starlink, the affordable internet service, has now been launched on over 1,000 aircraft. According to the company, Starlink will provide high-speed internet connectivity to passengers as soon as they step on board. Musk tweeted, "Using Starlink on a plane feels like having a high-speed ground fiber connection."
Musk recently revealed that Sierra Leone has become the 100th country and 10th African nation to join Starlink. In May, the company launched Starlink in Indonesia and Fiji. Musk emphasized that no long-term contracts are required to order high-speed internet service with Starlink.
Satellite-based internet service has received initial approval from Sri Lanka to provide internet services in the island nation. However, the service has yet to receive approval from the Indian government.
