Elon Musk launched his latest Bastrop County endeavor by opening the inaugural enrollment of students at his new school, Ad Astra.
What's happening
Ad Astra, Latin for "to the stars," is nestled about a mile from Hyperloop Plaza—home to several other Musk-led ventures.
According to the website, the Montessori-style school will focus heavily on science, technology, engineering and math, or STEM, programming split into two programs:Primary, for ages 3-6, with a capacity of 18 students
Lower Elementary, for ages 6-9, with a capacity of 30 students
Using hands-on, project-based learning, school officials hope to "ignite a spark of curiosity and innovation" in each student to encourage "the next generation of problem solvers and builders," according to the website.
