It isn’t entirely clear why the Warner Bros site has been chosen by Tesla for the unveiling, but sources close to the Robotaxi's development – who chose to remain anonymous – allegedly told Bloomberg that Tesla has been collecting data there.
It may be that Tesla is planning on performing a demonstration around the site, simulating real world traffic experiences.
Few details are known about the highly-anticipated Robotaxi, which Tesla has been teasing to the public for years. Musk originally claimed the Robotaxi would arrive in 2020.
2025 Tesla Model 3 Performance
In 2022, Musk confirmed that the Robotaxi would not feature a steering wheel or pedals, and would be as cheap to ride as a bus or subway ticket.
“It is going to be highly optimised for autonomy – meaning it will not have a steering wheel or pedals. There are a number of other innovations around it that I think are quite exciting, but it is fundamentally optimised to achieve the lowest fully considered cost per mile or kilometre when counting everything,” said the billionaire Tesla-founder back in 2022.
Tesla is also thought to be creating its own ride-share app, which will allegedly utilise Robotaxis and consumer vehicles.
More details will be revealed next month following the Robotaxi's official release, assuming it actually happens.
