The bear will be made of aged metal according to the filing, which would represent Tesla's "roots in the industry" and also show a "sense of strength, durability, and precision manufacturing." Tesla also plans on having glowing spotlights around the bear statue that can provide different colors and lighting designs based on events and holidays. The grizzly bear is the official state animal of California and featured prominently on the state’s flag. The statue is located where an HP Enterprises monument sign once stood, as the company was the former tenant of the building that Tesla has called its engineering headquarters since 2023.
