SpaceX has written a scathing letter to the U.S. Congress regarding the delays it is facing in launching Starships courtesy of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). In its address, the company highlighted how the FAA, which grants licenses for rocket launches, has been unable to "keep pace with the commercial spaceflight industry."
It also stated that the aviation watchdog "lacks the resources to timely review licensing materials" adding that delays such as this "directly threatens national priorities."

The @FAANews leadership spends their resources attacking @SpaceX for petty matters that have nothing to do with safety, while neglecting real safety issues at Boeing. This is deeply wrong and puts human lives at risk.

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk also strongly objected to the FAA's decision of permitting Starship to fly again no earlier than November.
"The FAA leadership spends their resources attacking SpaceX for petty matters that have nothing to do with safety, while neglecting real safety issues at Boeing. This is deeply wrong and puts human lives at risk," Musk wrote on X sharing SpaceX's letter. "Enough is enough," he said.
He highlighted how SpaceX is being fined despite stepping up to rescue NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Barry Wilmore from the International Space Station (ISS) when Boeing failed to do so. The FAA has imposed a penalty of $6,33,009 or Rs 5.28 crore for the alleged safety violations.
In the letter, the company laid facts highlighting how it has been "absolutely committed to safety in all operations."
