Calle Bergman has been hit with a penalty for his incident with former points leader Tobias Brink during the opening lap of the first STCC race at Mantorp Park.
Bergman started fourth and was right on the tail of pole sitter Brink heading into Turn 3.
The BMW driver then hit the back of Brink’s Tesla heading into the chicane, sending the Brink Motorsport hard into the wall and retirement.
The stewards handed Bergman five seconds for unfair driving, dropping the Exion Racing driver from fifth to tenth place.
The penalty elevates Volkswagen drivers Viktor Gustavsson and Alexander Graff to fifth and sixth place respectively.
The Brink Motorsport team is currently racing against time in order to try and repair Brink’s Tesla Model 3 ahead of the last race which starts at 14:30 CEST.
