- Sep 24, 2024 4:48 pm After making its debut at the Chengdu Motor Show, the Zeekr 7X has now officially launched in China. It comes in three variants: a 75 kWh RWD variant, a 100 kWh RWD, and a 100 kWh AWD variant, priced from 229,900 yuan (approx. RM137k) to 269,900 yuan (approx. RM161k). Delivery of the Zeekr 7X in China will commence this month. The Zeekr 7X SUV is positioned as a direct competitor to the Tesla Model Y. Designed with a global market in mind, the Zeekr 7X is expected to expand its sales beyond the domestic market within a year of its local launch. The Zeekr 7X measures 4,825 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width, 2,925 mm in height, and is underpinned by a 2,925 mm wheelbase – making it larger than the Tesla Model Y in every dimension. The AWD variant comes standard with air suspension while the lower two variants can add it as an option. It is built on the PMA2+ platform, which is derived from Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA3). This platform is also used in the Zeekr 007 and Smart #5. The Zeekr 7X supports 800V architecture and will be available with two battery options. The base 75 kWh RWD variant is equipped with the “Golden Brick” lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, an in-house-developed battery technology by Zeekr, capable of providing a driving range of up to 605 km (CLTC). A single motor on the rear axle produces 421 hp (metric) and 440 Nm of torque, translating to a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 5.8 seconds. The battery supports “4C” charging, capable of a 10-80% state of charging (SoC) in 15 minutes via DC power. The 100kWh RWD variant features the same electric motor but benefits from a larger NMC battery pack, resulting in an extended range of up to 780 km (CLTC). Additionally, this variant achieves a 0-100 km/h acceleration time that is 0.1 seconds faster (5.7 seconds) than the 75kWh RWD variant. The 100kWh AWD variant, meanwhile, comes with the “Qilin” nickel cobalt manganese (NCM) battery from CATL with a 100 kWh capacity that comes with a 705 km range (CLTC). With two motors, the variant boasts an output of 646 hp (metric) and 710 Nm of torque, which enables a 0-100 km/h time of 3.8 seconds. DC charging is supported at up to “5.5C”, which will get it from 10-80% in 10.5 minutes. In terms of design, the 7X employs the brand’s new “Hidden Energy” design language. Flowing across the front of the car is the Zeekr Stargate interactive LCD display, which can even display images or messages on its front fascia. There is also a roof-mounted LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) sensor for its advanced driver assistance features. The rear meanwhile features a slim full-width LED tail lights with a 3D effect. Interior-wise, the Zeekr 7X comes equipped with a 13.02-inch digital instrument cluster and a 16-inch infotainment display, the latter sporting mini-LED technology and a 3.5K resolution. Powering the infotainment system and its many functions is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip. The interior of the Zeekr 7X comes with features such as heated, ventilated, and massaging power front seats, three-zone climate control, a CN95 air filter, and a built-in fragrance system. The rear passenger space comes with powered seats with an extendable leg rest which is joined by electric sunshades for the door windows as well as airline-style tray tables that fold out from the backs of the front seats. Exclusive to the top variant is a three-inch 2K OLED touchscreen integrated into the back of the front passenger seat, and a powered table top with a load capacity of 20 kg. It also comes with a six-inch touchscreen integrated into the armrest to access various functions from the back.
