SpaceX’s Starlink satellite Internet service has grown significantly and now has more than 4 million users in more than 100 countries. This milestone was announced by Starlink President Gwynne Shotwell during a legislative session in Texas, confirming its impressive expansion since May when it reached 3 million users and December 2022 with 2.3 million subscribers.
Starlink’s rapid growth is evidenced by its parabolic customer trajectory, as illustrated by user Sawyer Merritt, who highlighted an average daily increase of 7,700 new customers over the past four months. To meet this demand, SpaceX has expanded the Starlink terminal production facility in South Texas to 1 million square feet.
Starlink currently has the largest number of operational satellites in orbit at 6,371, forming a global constellation network that provides Internet access around the world. This impressive infrastructure gives Starlink a significant edge over competitors such as Amazon’s Project Cooper, which has yet to commercialize its Internet service in space on a large scale.
