Tesla's Cybertruck, which Elon Musk has described as "apocalypse-proof," has hit another speed bump.
The truck has been recalled for the fifth time in a year.
This time the recall is over its rearview camera. Tesla's Cybertruck has had a rocky rollout since it launched last year — and now it's hit another speed bump.
A National Highway Traffic Safety Administration filing released on September 26 said Tesla was recalling more than 27,000 of the futuristic pickup trucks over an issue with the rearview camera that could increase the risk of crashing when reversing.
The agency said that the recall affected 27,185 Cybertrucks manufactured between November 13 and September 14 and that the automaker had released an over-the-air software update designed to fix the problem.
In a report submitted to the agency, Tesla said that under certain conditions, the image from the rearview camera on some Cybertrucks could fail to display within two seconds of the driver putting the vehicle into reverse, a violation of federal regulations.
The report said Tesla was not aware of any collisions or injuries as a result of the problem.
