The second stage of the Falcon 9 rocket, which was launched last month for NASA's International Space Station (ISS) astronaut transport mission Crew-9, succeeded in launching the spacecraft into orbit, but malfunctioned in the engine re-ignition process needed to dump the rocket booster into the sea, causing the booster to fall outside the Federal Aviation Administration-approved zone.
In response, the Federal Aviation Administration temporarily suspended the launch of the Falcon 9 rocket, announcing its plan to investigate the malfunction of the second end of the Falcon 9 rocket. The
Hera Mission' is one of the European Space Agency's (ESA) asteroid defense missions, an ongoing space exploration project that works with NASA to test and study technology to defend Earth from asteroid impacts.
The Falcon 9 rocket will launch between 10:52 a.m. and 11:27 a.m. Eastern time on the 7th.
