It’s hardly the first time Musk has come to the rescue: See the use of SpaceX’s Crew Dragon to retrieve astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore, whose “one week” visit to the International Space Station has stretched to months thanks to poor decision-making by NASA and a faulty Boeing craft. Elon also sent thousands of Starlink kits to Ukraine in the early of the Russia invasion — a huge boon to Kyiv’s defense, as it enabled communication and drone warfare in areas where both would have otherwise been impossible. Musk is reviled by the left because of his commitment to protecting free speech, even the speech of (gasp!) conservatives. But when the feds biff it, he has repeatedly jumped in to pick up the slack. Donald Trump’s already embraced Musk’s call for a government efficiency commission; Elon might even head it. But we have to say: Americans will need it even more if Kamala Harris wins. Filed under
