(WALA) - Hurricane Milton is now a post-tropical system. It is no longer a hurricane or a tropical storm. The recent impacts will result in a long recovery period for Central and South Florida. We saw over 100 tornado warnings issued, and a high number of confirmed tornadoes ahead of the system. Rainfall totals were anywhere from 10 to 15 inches, especially from Tampa, and along Interstate 4 to Orlando.
The dry air front that kept Milton from hitting our area is still in the region, and will remain in the forecast for the next seven days. Tonight will be the first time we’ve seen the upper 50s this fall season in areas along I-10 and the immediate coast. Temperatures will climb back up into the low 80s for highs as we head into the weekend and nights will stay quite cool. We will see a front moving into the area next week which should drive temperatures down even lower by mid week. Enjoy the great fall weather and the dry conditions.
