Elon Musk recently showcased Tesla's latest innovations: the "CyberCab," a "Robobus," and an upgraded version of the Optimus robot, which now serves drinks. Tesla's robot can not only wait tables and dance but also interact by talking and answering questions—although it seems, not all questions were addressed.
At a recent event, Elon Musk pulled back the curtain on some of Tesla's most groundbreaking projects, giving the world a glimpse into a futuristic vision of urban mobility and robotics. The "We, Robot" showcase unveiled several cutting-edge innovations, each promising to push the boundaries of technology as we know it. Musk's lineup featured not only advanced autonomous vehicles but also hinted at the company's expanding ambitions in artificial intelligence and robotics, including a robot that can serve drinks and interact with people.
Tesla's newest electric vehicle, the long-anticipated CyberCab, is a robotaxi that operates without a steering wheel or pedals. Production is not expected to begin until 2026 or later, as legislative changes are required to regulate autonomous vehicles for widespread use.
What about the CyberCab's potential price? Musk mentioned it would cost "under $30,000," though the press has expressed some skepticism about this claim, given the current prices of Tesla's traditional electric vehicles.
Even more intriguing was another vehicle revealed during the presentation, titled "We, Robot." This vehicle, tentatively called the Robobus, also lacks a steering wheel and pedals. Its futuristic, train-like design, with a sleek body and concealed wheels, made it look straight out of a sci-fi movie. Musk stated that it could carry up to 20 passengers or transport cargo. The dimly lit interior, with its spaceship-like seats, added to the vehicle's futuristic feel.
