NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The long awaited feel of fall has arrived. The fall front moved in late Tuesday night and howling winds helped usher in chilly and dry air through the overnight allowing most of the area to wake up to cool and dry conditions. Gusty winds in the 20 mph range will continue through midday Thursday. You may need to keep jackets especially in the mornings with lows in the 40s north and west of the lake. South shore will dip into the lower to middle 50s. . The dry air and gusty winds are prompting a Red Flag warning as fire can spread quickly with the wind and dry air.
