Tesla Says Cybertruck Battery Can Be Used With Powerwall To Power Homes Starting 2025

will allow Cybertruck customers who also have the company’s powerful home battery called Powerwall to power their homes with both in case of an outage starting in 2025, the company said on Wednesday.
What Happened: Powershare technology allows Cybertruck users to use the EV truck’s battery to provide power to electronic devices, other EVs, and even their homes during a power outage. Users can use the power outlets built into the truck for the purpose, including the two 120V outlets in the cabin and the 240 V outlet in the cargo bed.
With Powershare, Cybertruck can provide backup power to homes with up to 11.5 kW of power for up to three days, according to Tesla.
Powershare functionality can be used with Powerwall to power homes starting in 2025, the company said on Thursday, while adding that no additional equipment will be required.
Powerwall is a powerful home battery manufactured by Tesla that stores energy generated by solar or from the grid. It has an energy capacity of 13.5 kWh.
