STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Ever use an ATM and feel as though you’re being watched?
Well, according to Staten Island police, individuals with the malicious intent of stealing sensitive information are lurking in banks, scoping out their next target.
The NYPD’s 121st Precinct recently posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, warning of potential thieves prowling within ATM vestibules. The post, which includes a video, reads as follows:
Use an ATM? Thieves are lurking in bank vestibules working to steal from you!
They place money on the ground & claim you dropped it, while you pick it up they grab your card and info to withdraw your money later. Call 911 if you observe this ⬇️ pic.twitter.com/DKZlG4Asjg
