Cleveland Browns Deshaun Watson will miss the remainder of the 2024 season after sustaining an injury late in the first half of Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. In a statement Monday, the Browns said an MRI confirmed Watson sustained a ruptured right Achilles tendon, which will require surgery to repair.A full recovery is expected, the team says.Browns injury came inside the two-minute warning of the second quarter Sunday. He dropped back to pass and planted on his right foot, in which he went down after a pop was visible in the back of his leg.The start to the 2024 season for Watson had been one of the stories of the NFL season, as he ranked in the bottom five in the league in categories such as completion percentage, quarterback ranking and times being sacked. Before leaving the game, Watson had completed 15 of 17 pass attempts for 128 yards. He was also sacked twice.Where the Browns turn next under center is not 100% certain. Sunday, second-year player Dorian Thompson-Robinson was named the back up for the first time this year, relegating NFL veteran Jameis Winston to the emergency QB role. Both saw action in the second half of Sunday's game.
