Quinn Ewers appeared to respond on Monday to a rumor about him.
247 Sports, which is a site that specializes in recruiting news, posted something on their Instagram account Monday about Ewers that they quickly deleted. The post included a photo of Ewers and a “Breaking News” headline.
“Texas QB Quinn Ewers will sit out the rest of the season to prepare for the NFL Draft,” the post’s text said.
247Sports posted this to their Instagram and deleted shortly afterwards…
Do y'all think Quinn Ewers could actually opt out of the rest of the season? — Pete Thamel (@PeteThamel) October 21, 2024
Ewers missed time this season due to an oblique injury, which opened the door for Arch Manning to start in his place. But Ewers returned to face rival Oklahoma and then started against Georgia, though he was benched for two series due to poor play. Ewers returned to the game after Manning struggled as well, and continued to play the rest of the contest.
Ewers, who is in his redshirt junior season, has passed for 1,101 yards, 11 touchdowns and four interceptions this season. The Longhorns are 6-1.
