Tesla Inc. Chief Executive Elon Musk said that Tesla and Musk's startup xAI are working on different problems, but that xAI has been helpful to Tesla and they can collaborate when needed.
At the end of the earnings call, Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas asked Musk about the relationship between Tesla and xAI, noting that some investors were unclear about their relationship, and some believed they were competitive.
"XAI is working on artificial general intelligence or artificial superintelligence," Musk said. "Tesla is trying to make autonomous cars and autonomous robots... they are different problems," adding that each company swims in its own lanes.
But he added that they can collaborate if needed.
