In a mission scheduled for Thursday, October 24th, Vandenberg Space Force Base’s Guardians and Airmen are set to support SpaceX in the launch of the NROL-167 mission aboard a Falcon 9 rocket.
The launch window is expected to open at 10:13 a.m. and close by 11:00 a.m., emanating from Space Launch Complex 4.
The NROL-167 mission is under the aegis of the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), tasked with providing satellite reconnaissance. While the specifics of the payload remain classified, the successful deployment of NROL-167 is crucial for national security and intelligence-gathering capabilities.
The Falcon 9’s first stage is anticipated to perform a precision landing on the “Of Course I Still Love You” droneship post-stage separation.
Space enthusiasts and spectators worldwide will have the opportunity to witness the launch live, thanks to a webcast hosted by SpaceX. The broadcast is scheduled to start approximately five minutes before liftoff and will be available on the SpaceX X page: @SpaceX.
