|Updated: 16 minutes ago LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - A Lubbock police sergeant has passed away after battling cancer.
The Lubbock Police Department shared the news on social media that Sergeant Kelly Pirckle died Wednesday, Oct. 23.
Sgt. Pirkle served the Lubbock community for 25 years.
“Sgt. Pirkle was a legend in the law enforcement community – helping to shape many of the SWAT teams across the state and beyond," the department shared in a statement.
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of one of our own, Sergeant Kelley Pirkle.
