The Oklahoma City Thunder's devouring 102-87 win over the Denver Nuggets to open their season showcased what many people thought — the youngest first-seed in league history is here to stay as a title contender.
Despite Isaiah Hartenstein's absence, the Thunder made easy work of the Nuggets. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 28 points. Chet Holmgren stole the spotlight with 25 points and 14 rebounds.
Meanwhile, the Nuggets couldn't escape OKC's stifling defense. They shot 36% from the field. Nikola Jokic was limited to a quiet 16-point triple-double.
