(CNN) - Tesla CEO Elon Musk doesn’t seem to care that his million-dollar voter sweepstakes in battleground states might be illegal.
Earlier this week, the Department of Justice warned Musk’s pro-Trump PAC that prizes given to registered voters could be against federal election law.
But that didn’t stop the super PAC from giving away two $1 million prizes on Thursday.
The voters were in Michigan and Wisconsin.
The prizes go to random registered voters who sign a petition supporting the First and Second Amendments.
Musk has promised to hand out $1 million each day until Election Day to registered voters in certain swing states.
One election law analyst for C-N-N says voters who signed the petition could potentially face legal trouble for accepting money in exchange for their vote.
It should be noted the DOJ has not accused any winners or signers of the petition of any wrongdoing
