Tesla has rolled out additional locations for its self-serve test drive programme, enabling more people to “experience a Tesla vehicle without Tesla”.
The self-serve test drive programme is now available at 17 UK sites and over 160 in Europe and the Middle East
Now available at 17 sites in the UK and more than 160 locations across Europe and the Middle East, the programme give drivers the opportunity to trial the Model 3 and Model Y without physically interacting with a Tesla employee.
Self-serve test drives can be booked in under one minute online, through Tesla’s website or the Tesla mobile app.
Once scheduled, drivers receive an email with information on what to expect and are contacted by a Tesla advisor to confirm their 30-minute appointment and answer any questions that they may have.
On the day of the test drive, drivers use the Tesla app to locate, unlock and start the car. After entering the vehicle, a test drive walkthrough will appear on the touchscreen to assist them in adjusting the vehicle settings to their preferences. Participants can also contact a Tesla advisor by phone through the Tesla app to ask any questions.
At the end of the appointment, the car is returned to its original spot and locked using the Tesla app again.
The programme initially rolled out in the UK a year ago at Tesla’s remote test drive locations in Perth (Scotland), Carlisle, Shannon (Ireland) and Merry Hill – expanding on the brand’s introduction of the first unstaffed remote test drive hub in Sweden and Perth earlier in 2023. All test drive locations are completely remote and unstaffed.
