3 November 2024 It was only going to be a matter of time till someone got Doom running on the Nintendo Alarmo, we just didn’t expect it to happen this quickly. Less than a month after Nintendo announced their alarm clock, one enterprising modder has it running id Software’s demon-slaying FPS. As with many of the devices modders have got Doom running on, Alarmo Doom is a little unwieldy to play. As demonstrated by modder Gary Odernichts, you turn the Alarmo’s wheel to go left and right, push down to go forward, and use the other buttons to shoot and open doors. We doubt you’d survive against any of the game’s bosses. But that’s a secondary concern compared to the accomplishment of getting Doom running on the Alarmo. “Does it Run Doom?” started off as a joke but has evolved into a challenge. Thanks to enterprising individuals like Gary, we’ve seen Doom running on everything from fridges to pregnancy tests. After my last post, it was pretty clear what everyone wanted to see on the Alarmo.
