GIVE AGAIN It’s Tuesday, Nov. 5. Election Day 2024 has officially arrived and polling places across Montana are open. The final results tonight could remake the state’s political landscape, but in the meantime, if you’re not one of the roughly 431,000 voters who have already cast a ballot, there’s still time to get involved in the democratic process. If you’re unsure about your voter registration status, you can check it through the Montana secretary of state’s My Voter Page. The portal will tell you whether you’re an active voter, what legislative districts you’re registered to vote in and where to head to cast your ballot in person. Be sure to double check your polling location as some of those details may have changed since the last federal election due to recent legislative redistricting. In order to vote today, you need to get to the polls before they close at 8 p.m. If you’re already registered to vote, you will be required to present identification when you arrive at your polling location. Under current Montana law, the forms of identification voters can use at the polls are a current Montana driver’s license, a state-issued photo ID, a tribal or military photo ID, a U.S. passport or a student ID. If you don’t have a photo ID, you can use a utility bill, a bank statement, a voter confirmation card or any government document that shows your name and address. Once you’ve shown your ID and signed the precinct register, you’ll be provided your ballot and be directed to a voting booth.
