Status quo in the weather for the warmth and mugginess out the door right now but not so much for our sunshine... Clouds and showers moved in last night and stuck around a bit this morning but gradually diminishing after sunrise. Our atmosphere will still warm today even though we won’t see much if any sunshine. As it does so, this afternoon will have better dynamics for more substantial showers if not a thunderstorm or two. In other words, scattered and periodic showers pick back up this afternoon and some could be heavy at times. Highs today only reach the upper 70s to near 80 or 81° due to the clouds and uptick in afternoon rains. We’ll see some scattered showers stick around for tonight. But they should become lighter and fewer and further between. Thursday starts off drier but still mainly to mostly cloudy. Once our atmosphere warms again into the midday and afternoon, more scattered showers and some thunderstorms will pop up. Rain chances dwindle into Friday and the weekend as Rafael moves west across the Gulf of Mexico, robbing some of the dynamics for rain to return. We’ll still keep the same air mass of warmth and humidity into the end of the week and holiday weekend with Veterans Day on Monday. Skies will turn partly sunny on Friday to mostly sunny by the end of the weekend. Rafael continues to move toward the Western Gulf this weekend, but weakening as it does so. The system may make landfall as a tropical storm in Louisiana or Texas, or possibly Mexico.
