Smith, a defensive end, has been a key contributor to the Packers defense over his tenure and leaves with 44 sacks during his time with the franchise — the sixth most in team history. But his playing time has decreased in 2024 and now the Packers will go younger at the position. Before the Packers signed kicker Brandon McManus last month, Smith was the oldest player on the roster at 31. Smith's trade mirrors that of when the Packers traded Rasul Douglas in 2023 to the Buffalo Bills for a 2024 third-round draft selection.
