As Democrats conduct a postmortem on Kamala Harris' campaign following Donald Trump's decisive second-term presidential victory, claims have circulated about her campaign mismanaging the substantial funds it raised. Here's what we know.
Did Democrats Spend $1 Billion During Election?
Harris' campaign raised a little over $1 billion and had spent over $900 million as of October 16, according to the Federal Election Commission.
The campaign has faced criticism from within the Democratic Party for its lack of success, despite its formidable war chest.
Lindy Li, an official on the Democratic National Committee (DNC) finance committee, has branded the campaign a "$1 billion disaster."
Is Kamala Harris Campaign $20m in Debt?
A claim has circulated that Harris' campaign ended the election cycle with $20 million in debt.
Newsweek could not independently verify the debt figure claims, but this has been reported by multiple sources, including Politico's California bureau chief Christopher Cadelago, who cited two sources familiar with the matter.

Are Kamala Harris Staff Not Being Paid?
It was claimed online that the Harris campaign had not paid staffers their last paycheck. There is no evidence to support the claims.
One self-described Harris-Walz staffer, Marcus Vusovich, took to X, formerly Twitter, to debunk the allegation.
"Harris/Walz staffer here. We are still on staff, we get paid on the 15th and we have 2 weeks of severance. STOP SPREADING MISINFORMATION," he wrote on Monday the 11th.
Newsweek reached out to the Harris campaign via email for clarification.
Was Beyoncé Paid $10 Million to Endorse Kamala Harris?
Harris' campaign had the support of multiple high-profile celebrities, with many endorsing her and appearing at her star-studded rallies.
One claim circulated online that Beyoncé, who performed at one of Harris' recent rallies in Houston, had been paid $10 million to endorse the vice president.
Nonprofit fact-checking website FactCheck.org said that a Harris campaign official told them the claim "is not true." PolitiFact also said that it had found "no evidence" for the claim.
Did Kamala Harris Spend $450,000 a Day on Las Vegas Sphere Ad?
The Harris campaign spent large amounts of their funding on ads, including one eye-catching projection on the huge Las Vegas Sphere in the final week of the campaign.
The cost of this ad has not yet been filed by Harris's campaign with the FEC, but it is widely reported that it costs $450,000 for one day of advertising on the LED screens covering the arena.
All in all, Harris' campaign, associated fundraising committee and the DNC, spent more than $650 million on ads between when she became the nominee until Election Day, per the Wall Street Journal.
