Republicans have rubbed up against Disney for years in commentary and culture wars with President-elect Donald Trump calling the company "woke" and its films polling poorly with MAGA audiences.
Fox News host Sean Hannity suggested a boycott of the company if its network ABC News was unfair to Donald Trump during the presidential debate earlier this year, referring to its top brass as "left-wing."
The rift appeared to widen this week when a viral social media post suggested that the company was going to close its animatronic Disney World attraction "The Hall of Presidents" after Trump won the race to the White House.

President-elect Donald Trump speaks during a campaign rally at Bryce Jordan Center on October 26, 2024, in State College, Pennsylvania. Rumors appeared online that Trump's victory had led to the closure of the Hall of Presidents attraction at Disney World.
More The Claim
A post on X, formerly Twitter, by conspiracy theorist @amuse, posted on November 11, 2024, said: "CLOSED: Disney created a Hillary animatronic robot for her 2016 win for the The Hall of Presidents, but Trump won and they retrofitted it for him.
"In 2024 they made a Kamala robot, but when Trump won they decided having a Hall of presidents with Trump is too divisive."
The post included a TikTok that said, "Disney is permanently closing the Hall of Presidents. This announcement comes only days after Donald Trump won the presidential election.
"According to an internal source, Disney no longer wants to have such a divisive show inside their theme park. They mentioned that the re-election of Donald Trump would make the attraction too controversial, and isn't in the spirit of Disney. After all, they already had plans to remove President Trump, which we reported on earlier.
"Our source also mentioned that Imagineers were already working on a Kamala Harris animatronic. However, the election results didn't follow their plan. In 2016 they made this same mistake with Hillary Clinton.
"Imagineers had already created the animatronic but then Trump won. Instead of scraping the work, they decided to rework the animatronic into President Trump. However, that's not as easy with Kamala Harris for obvious reasons. They have decided it's easier and better to just close the attraction permanently.
"Luckily, instead of just scrapping everything in the ride, Disney will sell the presidential animatronics at an auction. So if you want an animatronic of any of the past presidents, you can bid on them. It's not yet clear what will take the place of the Hall of Presidents once it closes."
The Facts
There is no evidence that this is true. Not only has Disney made no announcements regarding Donald Trump's placement in the Hall of Presidents, but there is no news about closing the attraction either.
Newsweek has contacted multiple media representatives at Disney via email for comment.
The post left by @amuse, who has posted other misleading news stories that Newsweek has investigated, nor the TikTok video provides any quotes or references to support the story.
However, the TikTok account the video came from, "Mouse Trap News", describes itself as "Real Disney News That is 100% FAKE!!"
Other TikToks on the channel include other bogus stories such as "Cinderella Castle Burns Down", "Elon Musk Buying Disney World!" and "Venezuelan Gangs Taking Over Disney!"
One of the claims in the Donald Trump TikTok, that Trump's model was rebuilt from a version Disney had made for Hillary Clinton, is unconfirmed. Unnamed sources claiming to work for Disney, speaking to podcaster Alex Goldman, said robotics animators were unprepared for a Trump victory in 2016, but the claim Trump's model was Hillary's has not been officially substantiated.
