The first water-powered car smashes all existing fuels: Unprecedented power and futuristic engine
Tesla has released new insight on their new Model Y “Juniper”. In 2023, Tesla sold over 1.22 million Model Y vehicles across the globe. The model was the highest selling electric vehicle and continues to be one of the most popular Tesla models. Tesla continues to be a pillar of innovation and being a leader in innovative electrical vehicle designs.
Model Y sees a 64-percent increase in sales
Compared to 2022 sales, the Model Y saw an increase in sales of 64-percent for 2023. This promising figure points towards more consumers going green as the world races to reach sustainability goals. First introduced in 2020, the Model Y shares much of its architecture with the Model 3 sedan, but with a more spacious, SUV-style body offering additional passenger and cargo space. It combines the high performance, advanced safety features, and energy efficiency that Tesla is known for, while catering to the growing demand for electric SUVs.
One of the primary motivations behind the shift to electric SUVs is the environmental impact. Traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles are a significant source of greenhouse gas emissions and contribute to air pollution and climate change. Electric vehicles (EVs), including electric SUVs, produce zero tailpipe emissions. This makes them an attractive choice for those who want to reduce their carbon footprint. As more governments introduce stricter emissions standards and incentives for clean energy, the appeal of electric SUVs continues to grow.
New Model Y shrouded in secrecy
While Tesla has yet to release any concrete plans for the new Model Y, a spy video of the new camouflaged Tesla model was posed by CEO Elon Musk on X-account. The video shows more detail about the design of the car’s front and rear lights, with additional rumors a camera being located in the front bumper for Tesla’s Full Self Driving technology.
Additional rumors surrounding the new model are that production has already begun at Tesla’s Gigafactory in China. The factory was designed with an ambitious plan to scale up production rapidly. It began producing the Model 3 sedan in late 2020, and by 2021, it had become one of Tesla’s largest production sites. As of 2023, Gigafactory Shanghai’s output has reached over 750,000 vehicles annually with production expected to continue growing.
While release dates remain unconfirmed, some estimate that it could be as early as 2025. The Model Y is expected to have a price increase to cover additional manufacturing costs for the rumored new technology onboard. A more streamlined front end is expected from the vehicle and the new Model Y’s face taking inspiration from the Cybertruck and recently revealed Tesla Robotaxi.
Tesla continues to be a leader of innovation
Tesla’s future plans are focused on maintaining its leadership in electric vehicle (EV) innovation through continuous advancements in battery technology, autonomous driving, and sustainable energy solutions. The company is working on next-generation batteries which promise to significantly improve energy density, reduce production costs, and enable longer-range vehicles.
Tesla also continues to enhance its Full Self-Driving (FSD) software to revolutionize the way people interact with transportation. Furthermore, Tesla’s efforts to expand its energy ecosystem position the company as a key player in the transition to a sustainable, carbon-free future. With new models like the Cybertruck and Semi, along with the expansion of its Gigafactory network globally, Tesla is poised to lead the industry in both EV production and sustainable technology.
In addition, Tesla made headlines earlier this year with their revelation that they will be adding a new hydrogen vehicle model to their lineup as early as 2025. Tesla’s desicion to diversify their alternative fuel offerings may be a strategic move to stay on top as industry leaders while other automobile companies add green solutions to their own portfolios.
