NASA Astronaut Sunita Williams and her crew aboard the International Space Station (ISS) are getting into the holiday spirit after the recent arrival of a SpaceX Dragon capsule. As they gear up to celebrate Christmas in space, the astronauts are embracing the festive season, bringing holiday traditions to their extraordinary environment far from Earth.

Following the Dragon’s cargo delivery, which included supplies and holiday gifts, Williams reflected on the special experience of celebrating the holidays in space, adding a unique touch to their mission. A post shared by Don Pettit (@astro_pettit)
Beyond personal festivities, Williams and her fellow astronauts are engaging in educational outreach. They aim to connect with students on Earth through live video sessions, offering insights into life in space and inspiring the next generation to explore science and technology.
In addition to this, NASA astronaut Don Pettit aboard ISS shared an image of a table with a Santa Claus doll. In the image, a small Santa Claus doll perched atop a pile of food items. The assortment of food includes condiments like mustard, honey, and mayonnaise, as well as drinks like juice and tea. He captioned the image as “Coffee break on @iss”.
The unpiloted SpaceX Dragon spacecraft recently undocked from the International Space Station after receiving a command from SpaceX ground controllers. NASA stated that the spacecraft will re-enter Earth’s atmosphere and make a parachute-assisted splashdown off Florida’s coast. The spacecraft, which arrived at the ISS on November 5, carried 2,720 kilograms of supplies, scientific experiments, and equipment. This mission marked SpaceX's 31st commercial resupply service for NASA.
