It was the first time Lyu — left “literally shaking” — has had a problem with the car’s self-driving function.
“This time, this one time that scared the s–t out of me. That’s crazy,” he said.
Lyu said he was forced to turn off the car’s “Autopilot” and ran a red light at the nearest intersection to get out of the train’s path.
“I’m just trying to share this video to Tesla and the team,” he said.
“This is a serious problem, and regardless how a human reacts, the autopilot algorithm should never put any of their vehicles onto the train track. That’s just fundamentally wrong.”
Tesla did not respond to requests for comment.
