According to a recent study from Compare The Market, the three most searched-for car brands worldwide are Toyota, Tesla, and BMW. But which of these car brands are the most popular in the U.S.? Here's a hint: It has a Texas tie-in. What car brand is the most searched online in the US? According to Compare the Market, Elon Musk's Tesla is the most searched car brand in America. This is the second year that Tesla has topped the list. Ford is still the second-most searched brand, while Toyota came in third, according to a press release. As part of their methodology, Compare the Market used available data from Google Trends to find the most searched car bands in 2024 across 155 countries. Tesla does not appear in Google Trends' rankings for the vehicle brands category due to discrepancies in its classification, the report states. To account for Tesla, they gathered keyword search volume for each country’s top three brands in Google Trends and Tesla. What car brand is the most searched in the world? Toyota remains the most searched car brand worldwide, having also been crowned the most searched brand in 2023. Tesla also performed well globally, maintaining its second-place ranking. While Toyota has held the number one position for four consecutive years, Tesla's popularity continues to rise. Tesla is now the most searched brand in 34 countries, an increase from 29 in 2023. Toyota led in 64 countries. If current trends persist, Tesla could surpass Toyota as the most searched car brand by 2031. For the first time, BYD entered the rankings, driven by the global success of its top-selling EVs. The Chinese electric and hybrid manufacturer was the most searched brand in Uzbekistan and Nepal. Meanwhile, Lexus and Volvo dropped out of the rankings in 2024, while Ford made a comeback after being excluded from the list in 2022. Where is Tesla's headquarters? Tesla has a manufacturing facility in Austin known as the Gigafactory. The factory officially opened in 2021 and produces vehicles, including the Model Y and Cybertruck. Texas is a key location for Tesla's production and innovation efforts.
