The mission marked the Falcon 9 first-stage booster’s third flight, SpaceX reported. Young by SpaceX standards, this booster previously launched GOES-U and one Starlink mission.
Following stage separation, the booster landed on the SpaceX drone ship A Shortfall of Gravitas in the Atlantic Ocean a bit more than eight minutes after liftoff.
Blue Origin, SpaceX launches coming Friday
Space fans continue counting down the hours to the maiden flight of Blue Origin's New Glenn rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. That three-hour launch window will open from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m. Friday.
Later Friday morning, a SpaceX Falcon 9 will launch on another Starlink mission from KSC, a Federal Aviation Administration operations plan advisory shows. That launch window extends from 10:27 a.m. to 2:58 p.m.
