This updated version of Tesla’s best-selling EV features improved range, faster acceleration, and premium upgrades. With a starting price of $59,990, it comes at a steep premium over the outgoing model. The 2025 Model Y Launch Series offers an estimated 320 miles of range, a modest increase from the current Long Range AWD trim’s 311 miles. Equipped with DC fast charging, the electric SUV can regain up to 154 miles of range in just 15 minutes. Performance has also been enhanced, with a 0-60 mph time of 4.1 seconds, down from 4.8 seconds in the previous version. However, this performance bump comes at a cost: the Launch Series is $12,000 more expensive than its predecessor Tesla has packed the Launch Series with premium features. Full-Self Driving (Supervised) is included as standard, along with a vegan suede interior, exclusive badging, and an array of comfort and tech upgrades. Tesla has not yet announced additional trims but is expected to introduce more options in the future. The refreshed Model Y takes styling cues from Tesla’s Robotaxi and Cybertruck. Updates include a sleeker front fascia with a full-width light bar and a bold rear light bar design. Inside, the cabin has been reworked for improved comfort and convenience. Tesla promises a quieter ride thanks to enhanced acoustic glass, improved suspension, and redesigned body castings. New additions include an 8-inch rear touchscreen, ventilated front seats, and powered second-row seats. Tesla has also added a turn signal stalk, softening its previously minimalist interior approach. However, with its sales declining last year for the first time in a decade, Tesla faces increasing pressure to maintain its dominance in a crowded EV market.
