Update 5:10 p.m.: Thick, opaque sea fog greatly obscured this morning's SpaceX Starlink launch from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
And the National Weather Service warns fog will remain a factor this evening along the coast.
"Areas of dense fog producing visibilities of a mile or less will persist this afternoon across the Atlantic waters of Volusia County and nearshore waters of Brevard County. Patchy fog will also linger along portions of the Volusia and Brevard County barrier islands through this afternoon," a NWS hazardous weather outlook said.
"Then into tonight, sea fog will once again thicken and spread inland this evening, with areas of dense fog forecast to redevelop and expand across east central Florida through the overnight and early morning hours on Wednesday," the outlook said.
Maxar reveals mission patch for SpaceX launch
Update 5 p.m.: In a tweet shortly after noon, Maxar Technologies officials shared an image of the mission patch for the Maxar 3 launch.
The pair of WorldView Legion satellites slated for liftoff will wrap up the company's first block of six orbiting satellites.
"With this launch, we complete the first block of our groundbreaking fleet, delivering even more high-resolution imagery for critical missions," the tweet said.
SpaceX weather is 95+% 'go for launch'
Update 4:50 p.m.: The Space Force's 45th Weather Squadron pegged the odds of favorable launch weather at greater than 95%.
"Light winds and clearing skies will result in widespread fog through the nighttime and morning hours once again as the pattern will remain fairly stagnant," the squadron's forecast said.
"Some light afternoon showers are possible, but conditions will remain mostly dry, and clouds will be low enough as to not be a concern for violation of launch criteria for both the primary and (Wednesday) backup windows," the forecast said.
