A SpaceX rocket following an unusual southeastern trajectory may generate louder rumbling than usual Tuesday evening along the Space Coast as it ascends toward the Bahamas.
SpaceX will attempt to land a Falcon 9 first-stage booster atop the Just Read the Instructions drone ship in the Bahamas for the first time. Liftoff of this Starlink 10-12 mission is scheduled for 6 p.m. EST Tuesday from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, with backup launch opportunities available until 10 p.m.
To the south of Launch Complex 40 — think Cape Canaveral-Cocoa Beach down to Sebastian Inlet — the rising rocket's orbital flight path should track closer to the Brevard County shoreline than typical Starlink missions, according to navigational warnings issued by the Coast Guard and Space Launch Delta 45.
