What's the story
Tesla has started recalling nearly 380,000 vehicles in the US over a power steering assist malfunction.
The company flagged this defect as one that could increase steering effort at low speeds, thereby increasing the risk of accidents.
The affected models include select 2023 Model 3 sedans and Model Y crossovers running on older software versions.

In the wake of the power steering assist failure, Tesla has issued an over-the-air software update.
The company shared the information in a report with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The update is designed to fix and resolve the overvoltage breakdown issue on the affected models.
Last month, Tesla recalled over 200,000 electric vehicles in the US over an issue related to computer hardware.
