I've written several reports about the negativity surrounding the Tesla Cybertruck. The story of a school teacher getting her and her husband's truck keyed by a knife. Another story of a Tesla dealer in Colorado that's been vandalized three times in ten days. However, there's another side to the Cybertruck story. Marcus Reno revealed on Facebook that he took his new Tesla Cyberyruck to a car show and was expecting negativity and haters. However, what he experienced from car fans at the show was a total surprise and even shock. He says, "Yesterday, I took my truck to The Wharf in Orange Beach, AL, where there were thousands of people and hundreds of classic, muscle, and custom cars. Based on what I saw online, I braced for negativity, but let me tell you—that couldn't have been further from the truth. I was shocked at the response." "For six hours, I never had less than 20 people around my truck. I had over 100 people sitting in it, asking questions and taking pictures, and I was just completely blown away by it. The most common things I heard?" "Man, these look incredible in person." "I had no idea the interior was so clean and futuristic." "This thing is just badass." "I've heard a lot of crazy stuff online, but now that I see it—wow." The Repose Was Overwhelmingly Positive "And that wasn't just younger folks—even the classic car and muscle car guys came over to check it out and asked good questions." He says that there was not even one person who said anything negative. "It just proves what I already believed: negativity stands out online, but the real-world reaction is overwhelmingly positive." "Think about it—if someone gets flipped off once while driving, they go straight to the internet to post about it. Meanwhile, 100 people took pictures, smiled, and gave thumbs-ups, but that one middle finger is what people fixate on. And then, of course, the loudest online trolls will jump in and amplify the negativity." Here is the Reality and His Challenge "Get your Cybertruck out there," Marcus advises. "Take it to a car show, park it somewhere public, and just watch the reaction. It's nothing like the internet. In fact, the more time that's passed since I first got mine, the more positive reactions I see—not less." "Honestly, I wish I'd set up a GoPro to time-lapse just how many people came up, how many pictures were taken, and how many kids absolutely loved it.
