In a context where connectivity has become essential, Elon Musk is taking another step towards his vision of a fully connected planet. Following the partnership between T-Mobile and Starlink (SpaceX’s satellite internet service), it has been announced that 50 models of mobile phones will be compatible with a system that will allow users to access the internet for free anywhere in the world, even in remote areas without terrestrial coverage. The initiative marks a milestone in global connectivity, although the service will initially be limited to certain basic functionalities.
This innovative program, powered by Starlink’s satellite infrastructure, will include devices from the major brands on the market: 27 Samsung models, 12 from Apple, 5 from Motorola, 4 from Google and 2 from T-Mobile. Among the smartphones that stand out are the new iPhone 16 and the Samsung Galaxy S25, in addition to their entire respective lineups. Below is the full list of available phones.

Samsung: How does the free satellite Internet work?
The Starlink connection is automatically activated when the user is outside of their traditional mobile operator’s coverage area. At that moment, the device will display the message “T-Mobile SpaceX”, indicating that it is connected to the satellite network. To use this system, in addition to having a compatible phone, devices must have the latest operating system (iOS or Android) installed, as recent updates include the necessary support for emergency satellite connectivity.
In terms of features that will be allowed, the service is currently limited to text messaging, location sharing and access to emergency services. In future phases, however, it is expected to be expanded to include voice calls and Internet browsing, which would represent a total revolution in mobile communications.
