You can imagine the Jeep Wrangler owner's shock as his 4x4 vehicle got stuck in the mud and then had to be pulled out by a Tesla Cybertruck.
Camron Newton recently purchased a Tesla Cybertruck and took it off road for the first time to see how his truck would handle the trails. He lives in Ocala, Florida which may not have mountains, but there is some steep trails, sand, and plenty of mud. Still a good test for the electric truck.
In the Tesla Cybertruck Facebook Owners page post he says, "I had an absolute blast on the trails today! My Cybertruck tackled deep mud, classic sketchy Florida sugar sand, and even threw in some light crawling for good measure."
Camren took his CT to the Citrus Wildlife Management Area, known for its sandhills, and found out what his Cybertruck would do. His new truck didn't stay clean for long.
He had to navigate a rutted-out, steep trail, and had the most fun at the bottom of the trail, where there was water and mud. His Cybertruck handled the muddy spots with ease. Thern he came across a Jeep Wrangler that was stuck in a mud pond.
So, Camron backed up his truck, hooked up a tow strap, and pulled the 4x4 Jeep out of the hole. It's what you do on the trail when you find someone in trouble in the muddle of nowhere.
Here is what Camron says,
"I gotta say—this truck is a beast. We were gliding through 12 to 18 inches of thick mud and washboard terrain like it was nothing."
"The highlight? Pulling a Jeep Wrangler out of what was basically a small mud pond."
"My Cybertruck pulled the Jeep Wrangler out of the mud hole like I wasn't even attached to anything."
What did the Jeep Wrangler Owner Say?
You can imagine the humiliation the Wrangler owner felt. First, he got stuck in the mud, and if that wasn't bad enough, he had to be pulled out by a Cybertruck.
I can hear him saying, "Thanks, man. I don't know what I would have done if you hadn't come along. Your Cybertruck just saved my day."
After the Jeep Wrangler is pulled out of the mud, its owner takes a surprised look at the Cybertruck. Then I can imagine Camron telling him about all the cool technology in the truck.
After giving the Jeep fan a tour of his CT, the Jeep guy was so impressed that he wanted to see more of how it handles the trails. No one else was on the trail, and he didn't want to get stuck again, so he decided to stick close to Camron. What started as a rescue turned into a day of shared adventure and a friendship born out of what could have been a bad situation.
He asks Camron if they can hang together the rest of the day. "Sure, let's go," I can hear Camron saying.
Camron concludes, "We ended up sticking together the rest of the way, and let's just say… even they were shocked at how well the Cybertruck handled it all."
After a Day On the Trail With the Cybertruck
Now, I can hear the Jeep Wrangler owner saying. "I just may have to test drive a Cybertruck. I had no idea that they were so capable off road. I love my Jeep, but I'm impressed with this thing's capability and technology."
What Are the Off-Road Capabilities of the Cybertruck?
The Tesla Cybertruck's off-road capabilities are impressive, surprising even the most seasoned off-road enthusiasts like the Jeep Wrangler. The CT boasts features like independent torque vectoring, locking differentials, and a front-mounted camera. It also offers various off-road modes with adjustable tire slip and suspension settings. The truck can handle steep ascents, descents, uneven terrain, and shallow creeks with ease.
Check out the CT's Off-Road Modes and Features:
Off-Road Mode: This mode provides access to settings and drive modes that manage obstacles like steep ascents, descents, uneven terrain, and shallow creeks.
Overland Mode: This mode offers customization options for sand, gravel, rock, and all-purpose driving.
Baja Mode: Allows for manual adjustment of power distribution between front and rear wheels, enabling more agile handling.
Rock Mode: Tightly manages tire slip for maximum grip in rock crawling conditions, with the ride height set to Very High and air springs pneumatically linked for better articulation.
Extract Mode: Raises the suspension to its highest setting to clear obstacles and get unstuck, with a speed limit of 10 mph.
Wait, There's More
Wade Mode: Allows fording up to 32 inches of water by lifting into the Very High suspension mode and pressurizing the battery to prevent water entry.
Vehicle Hold: Automatically applies the brakes when the truck stops, even on a hill, without the driver needing to depress th brake pedal.
Vehicle Roll: Allows the truck to roll freely when stopped, similar to a vehicle in Neutral.
Off-Road Assist: Optimizes traction by balancing torque between the front and rear motors.
Trail Assist: Essentially, off-road cruise control, allowing for speed control, hill ascent, and hill descent, letting the driver focus on steering.
Conclusion
The Jeep Wrangler owner's shock was palpable as his 4x4 vehicle, a symbol of off-road prowess, found itself stuck in the mud and in need of rescue from an unexpected savior-a Tesla Cybertruck.
Whether the Jeep Wrangler guy test drove a Cybertruck and purchased one, we may never know. But one thing is for sure, he was left in awe of its off-road capabilities. The Cybertruck truly saved the day and left a lasting impression.
