Tesla’s entry into India has been a widely discussed topic across several forums in the past few months. Earlier this year, Tesla confirmed the locations of two new showrooms in India. The flagship outlet will be located in Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), where the company has leased a 4,000 sq ft commercial space.
As per media reports, Tesla has agreed to a five-year lease with a monthly rent of approximately Rs 35 lakh (Rs 900 per sq ft). The second showroom is set to open in Aerocity, Delhi. In addition, the American carmaker set up its third office in India which is located out of Mumbai at the Bandra Kurla Complex after Pune and Bangalore.

These reports indicate that Tesla is indeed eager to enter into the Indian market. In what form, that still remains a mystery. In the meanwhile, Tesla has started hiring workforce in India. The company has put out hiring posts for various positions on LinkedIn. This isn’t the first time that the Elon Musk-led company has put up hiring posts on a social media platform.

A couple of months ago, Tesla posted hiring updates on LinkedIn for posts like Customer Support Supervisor in Mumbai, Service Manager in Delhi. However, most of the roles offered (if not every) offered previously, were focussed at the showroom level. The latest posts suggest that Tesla is now looking for individuals who can now look at the technical insights about the upcoming Tesla models.
