Tesla is now offering a $1,000 discount in Canada for new car buyers who are verified first responders, teachers, or students.
The incentive applies to all new orders of the Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y, and Cybertruck, points out Tesla North. To qualify, customers must confirm their eligibility through ID.me before ordering. Once verified, they’ll be sent to Tesla’s online configurator to finalize their purchase. The discount will be automatically applied before taxes.
The deal must be used at the time of purchase—it doesn’t apply to previous orders and can’t be transferred. While it can be combined with Tesla’s financing options and referral program, it can’t be used alongside other group discounts such as the Lyft driver program.
Tesla first launched the offer in the U.S. in mid-May 2025 as part of its expanded “Made in America for Everyday Heroes” campaign. That program initially offered discounts to military members and veterans but was broadened to include first responders, teachers, and students.
Canada’s version of the program now includes the same professions, though military personnel are not currently listed.
Tesla notes the promotion may be changed or ended without notice. Those interested can schedule a test drive online. Some provinces have ended rebates on EVs while the federal government’s iZEV rebate recently also ended. This means prices for EVs are higher than before without rebates from provincial and federal governments.
