Consequences of the fallout are already being felt by Musk. Tesla shares tumbled 14% in trading Thursday following the very nasty and public spat between Trump and Musk.
Tesla is not the only company Musk should be worried about, as Trump threatened to revoke SpaceX’s government subsidies. Musk went on his social media platform X and made a retaliatory threat, where he said if the subsidies were cut, he would dismantle SpaceX’s Dragon Capsule that NASA relies on to travel to the International Space Station (ISS). Musk follows through with his threat NASA will have to rely on Russia’s Soyuz capsule.
Trump appeared to threaten Musk, as he
posted
on his Truth social media platform Thursday that, “The easiest way to save money in our Budget, Billions and Billions of Dollars, is to terminate Elon’s Governmental Subsidies and Contracts. I was always surprised that Biden didn’t do it!”
