Starlink is finally rolling out in the country after procuring an operating license. According to reports, the Elon Musk-led company has also finalized the subscription plan. Customers will initially have to shell out nearly Rs 33,000 for the kit to activate access satellite communication. The kit will include a Starlink dish and other essential hardware. Reportedly the monthly data plan will be offered at Rs 3,000. However, the SpaceX subsidiary is offering a one month free trial with every Starlink hardware purchase. This will allow the users to experience the services before opting for one.
Earlier in a Twitter exchange, the companyâs VP for engineering had debunked the rumors of Starlink offering subscriptions as low as $10 in India.
Starlink is the third company to get licensed by the Department of Telecom (DoT). Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio and OneWeb by Eutelset, are already approved by the DoT for operations.
