WATCH LIVE: SpaceX Ready to Launch Falcon 9 Rocket Carrying Starlink Satellites from Cape Canaveral
BREVARD COUNTY • CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – SpaceX successfully launched another batch of Starlink satellites Wednesday afternoon, continuing the company’s mission to expand its global broadband internet constellation.
The Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 3:54 p.m. ET, deploying 27 Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit. The launch proceeded smoothly during the primary launch window, which extended until 4:32 p.m.
This mission marked the 20th flight for the first stage booster used in the launch—a proven workhorse in SpaceX’s reusable fleet. The booster had previously supported several high-profile missions, including Ax-2, Euclid, Ax-3, CRS-30, SES ASTRA 1P, NG-21, and 13 prior Starlink deployments.
Following stage separation, the booster successfully landed on the Just Read The Instructions droneship, stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.
Starlink, SpaceX’s satellite internet project, aims to provide high-speed connectivity across the globe, particularly in remote and underserved areas. The growing constellation now numbers in the thousands, with launches occurring nearly every week.
