USA TODAY Tesla CEO and founder Elon Musk is the richest person in the world after overtaking Jeff Bezos in 2022. Despite Musk's success, owning a Tesla is not for everyone. Some might be hesitant to embrace Tesla’s self-driving and driver-assist technologies. CNBC reported Tesla was the leader in driver-assist crashes between June 2021 and June 2022. Although this data does not necessarily mean Tesla cars are any less safe than other cars with similar technologies, it does show there is danger associated with these developing technologies. Others might be put off by the cost. How much does a Tesla cost? A Tesla car could cost you from $45,000 to well over $200,000 as of June 2022, according to Motor Trend magazine.
