A 23-year-old woman was arrested for drug trafficking 17 pounds of meth in a Tesla Cybertruck in Columbia.
On Thursday, a Boone County police officer conducted a traffic stop on a silver Cybertruck for having an illegal front passenger tint.
The driver, Asia Schafer, had a child in the backseat and claimed she was leaving the park and lunch.
According to a court document, the officer had prior knowledge that the vehicle was coming from Kansas City and that Schafer was lying.
Schafer eventually admitted she was coming from Kansas City, where she picked up an unknown bag.
A K-9 was deployed, alerting officers to possible narcotics.
In the probable cause statement, officers found a diaper bag next to the child’s car seat.
Inside the diaper bag was two trash bags and 7 bundles of meth, which came out to a total of 17 pounds of methamphetamine.
Schafer was booked into Boone County jail.
Prosecutors charged her with First Degree Trafficking Drugs.
She is held without bond.
